Lil Red Takeout & Catering

So delicious!! The goat curry and ox tail are just both absolutely fantastic and well worth the price. For sides we got the mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, rice, and plantains. All were good but the plantains and mashed potatoes were definitely my favorites. We also got some jerk chicken and burnt ends to take home and they kept really well. The burnt ends were so moist and had a great smokey flavor.

EVERY. F******. TIME. this spot exceeds my expectations. Mouthwatering no matter what you get! I love the pork sliders, red beans and rice, Mac and cheese. The banana pudding is one of the best I've ever had. If you haven't tried the sea moss tea from @teamossshop it is a must try. I love the prickly pear and mango punch flavor. They have watermelon lavender too which is also extremely great. The staff is so amazing and nice shoutout to chef red. I love the lady working in the front, she is very helpful. They also serve red stripe beer

I got the jerk chicken meal with Mac and garlic mash. The jerk was just okay. Good seasoning. The Mac is super thick and rich. Which if you're after might be for you but to me it was just a step too much. Garlic mash was pretty good, maybe a little lumpy but very garlicy which I liked. The meal comes with cornbread and I have to be honest, this put me off quite a lot. It made me physically gag and is probably why I have to give three stars instead of 4.

I normally make Jamaican jerk chicken at home, but I wanted to get a taste of how others in Washington make it. First things first is- Customer service was great, I have no complaints on customer service. Secondly, this is not jerk chicken, I have no clue to what this chicken is but it’s not Jerk, and one was undercooked. Third, this was my first time having snapper, it tasted like white sugar steamed fish. To top it off, the sides; the greens, there was way too much going on, the rice and beans was not it…. The garlic mash was okay, a lot of black pepper. The plantains were almost it, but overcooked, they had a burnt taste. The Pattie’s must be store bought from the frozen section… This made me entirely sad… I ended up going to the red lounge right after, HUGE DIFFERENCE. I hate to rate this place poorly, but if your looking for authenticity, this place ain’t it.

If I could give this place no stars I would. The food was flavorless. We got the ribs that tasted like they were made in the oven, the cornbread was burned at the bottom and tastes like old oil. The jerk fried rice was uncle Ben's rice and pepper. No flavor at all, it also taste like the used pulled pork meat that was getting ready to go bad. The bread pudding is dryer than the desert. They used the old corn bread and added sweet sauce. Save your money and time and skip this place! As a Jamaican I am offended they call this a Jamaican restaurant!
